💡  About the Role

We're looking for a System Engineer to support ATPG while working alongside mission, to understand operational requirements to design, develop, deploy, monitor, and maintain operational network infrastructure. You will help build infrastructure capabilities that assist with tool development, including GitLab and continuous integration/continuous deployment infrastructure, as well as create services to support dynamic firewall and router configurations. As part of the ATPG team, you will have the opportunity to identify requirements from system administrators, software developers, analysts, and operators via casual conversations, deliver solutions, and watch mission utilize what you've provided. 

💪🏼  Required Skills and Experience

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Technical Experience:
  • Manage and sustain an essential GitLab deployment, including CI/CD infrastructure. 
  • Use open source and proprietary software to collect metrics from various applications, hardware, and network appliances. 
  • Utilize metrics to understand the health of the network and identify and resolve issues. 
  • Build out a new firewall service that is easily deployed and tracks the status of services and rules. 
  • Provide increased visibility of underlying systems and rules for the system administrators on the team; programmatically alert the team to items that require their immediate attention. 
  • Experience utilizing GitLab and GitLab CI/CD pipelines. 
  • Experience developing software in python. 
  • Experience deploying and running open-source tools at the agency. 
  • Passion for system reliability engineering - collecting metrics and putting them to good use. 
• Preferred Skills
  • Experience deploying and administering GitLab and GitLab Runners. 
  • Experience programming in Go. 
  • Experience administering network firewalls. 
  • Experience automating manual processes. 
  • Experience with computer networking, specifically Cisco software-defined networking. 
  • CNO experience. 
• Degree Requirements and Years Experience:
  • No degree / Associate: 16 years experience
  • BS / MS / PhD: 12 years experience
