💡 About this Role
This is a rare opportunity to build something genuinely new. As a Software Engineer on this team, you'll be at the forefront of designing and advancing a cutting-edge agentic platform — one that powers intelligent, autonomous workflows in complex, high-stakes environments. This isn't maintenance work or incremental feature development. You'll be shaping how AI-driven agents operate, learn, and deliver impact from the ground up.
You'll work hands-on with agentic primitives — skills, prompts, and subagents — and integrate diverse data sources and external APIs using MCP tools to enable seamless, scalable system interoperability. Alongside cyber analysts and key stakeholders, you'll translate real operational challenges into technical solutions that matter. If you're energized by production AI systems, stream processing at scale, and the challenge of making autonomous workflows actually work in the real world, this role is for you.
This position is located in Columbia, MD.
📋 Requirements
- 12 years of software development experience, or 16 years in lieu of a B.S. in a technical discipline
- Strong Python proficiency with hands-on experience building and maintaining production applications that serve hundreds to thousands of users
- Solid understanding of AI development concepts, including prompt engineering, context management, structured outputs, and tool/function calling
- Experience developing resilient, scalable stream processing applications using modern messaging and event-streaming platforms (e.g., Apache Kafka)
- Experience with Elasticsearch for indexing and querying
- Familiarity with agentic frameworks such as PydanticAI, Langgraph, or DeepAgents
- Experience leveraging AI coding assistants for code generation, refactoring, debugging, and automation
In this role, you will:
- Develop agentic integrations in Python that leverage multiple AI models, APIs, and data sources in production environments
- Build tools and agentic workflows within modern frameworks like PydanticAI, Langgraph, and DeepAgents
- Work directly with cyber analysts and key stakeholders to understand operational workflows and identify high-impact automation opportunities
- Design and implement real-time analytics pipelines in Python using Apache Kafka for stream processing and Elasticsearch for indexing and querying
- Maintain and troubleshoot a production-grade agentic platform
🌟 Preferred Skills
- Experience with agentic workflows and multi-agent orchestration
- Background in cybersecurity or familiarity with security operations workflows
- Experience managing deployments in AWS Cloud with Kubernetes
- GitLab CI/CD automation
- Experience with retrieval systems, including RAG pipelines, vector databases, and semantic search
- Experience analyzing cybersecurity-related datasets such as network traffic and OS events
- Knowledge of end-to-end SIGINT collection and analysis systems
- Experience with production CNO capabilities and operations
