💡 About this Role

You will serve as the Technical Team Lead for our Mission Intelligence team, leading a group of engineers and analysts who support critical data engineering, analytics, and automation initiatives. Our MI team operates a business intelligence platform that enables enterprise-wide, data-driven decision making — it's mission-critical infrastructure that our stakeholders depend on every single day.

In this role, you will wear multiple hats. You'll contribute as a system engineer, software engineer, and analytics developer, designing and developing solutions that analyze large datasets to establish mission cognizance and deliver mission-centric insights. At the same time, you'll lead your team by removing technical obstacles, managing expectations, and enabling consistent execution.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop analytics that combine, normalize, and enrich large datasets to unlock actionable intelligence
  • Design and implement ETL workflows to convert and normalize data at scale
  • Augment the platform with new tools and technologies that improve capability and reliability
  • Gather stakeholder requirements, assess available data, and develop solutions for delivering key metrics
  • Break down complex tasks into actionable steps that demonstrate consistent progress toward mission goals
  • Remove technical obstacles and support your team's execution of challenging work
  • Define and communicate task scope through clear documentation and tracking systems
  • Enable your team to integrate site reliability engineering practices into the operational platform
  • Mentor and guide junior software engineers and data scientists, investing in their growth
  • Produce project management materials such as agendas, meeting notes, and design decision records
  • Ensure the reliability, availability, and quality of this mission-critical platform

📋 Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering and technical leadership, or a B.S. in a technical discipline plus 8+ years of experience
  • Proven experience supporting enterprise-scale platforms
  • Strong Java development skills
  • Familiarity with customer authentication and authorization platforms and standards
  • Experience with service containerization and deployment using Docker and/or Kubernetes
  • Proficiency with Git for software version control
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical teams
  • Effective interpersonal skills for collaborating across diverse backgrounds and skill sets
  • Experience or exposure to site reliability engineering (SRE) principles
  • Willingness to contribute to internal and customer-facing documentation
  • Customer service mindset and commitment to mission success

  • Experience with Elasticsearch and Kibana
  • Deep familiarity with Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of map reduce analytic environments (e.g., Hadoop)
  • Understanding of end-to-end SIGINT collection and analysis systems
  • Python development experience
  • Experience with production CNO capabilities and operations

💰 Salary Range

$282,000 – $332,000

This range includes our flex income and depends upon your annual work hours.

Salary is determined on an individual basis following the interview process and considering various factors such as years of experience, skills, education, and certifications.
